The difference feels like strain versus reorientation. Willpower is me standing in front of the desire, trying to hold it back. This shift is me seeing past it, recognizing that the same energy can either be spent on the craving or directed toward what I actually want.

The Sculpture Made of Salt
The rain started. The salt dissolved. The statue understood. He was always meant to be something more, something boundless and timeless. He would be part of everything, and everything a part of him. All the rigidness that he once thought he was fell away. He no longer thought. He felt.
Getting in My Own Way: The Research Trap
I thought I’d learned this lesson. But sitting down to record my first podcast, I felt it creeping back in; that need to impress, to do it “the right way.” My head started to spin again. How did I get here? Time and time again, I forget: when I finally let go and trust myself, everything comes together.

The Fear beneath the Fear
I had done so much work to stop fearing negative outcomes that I hadn’t noticed a more refined fear still living underneath: the fear of not getting the outcome I preferred. I was no longer clinging to catastrophe, but I was still clinging to authorship.
The Crystalline World
A painting of my first encounter with a strange land made of a crystalline refractive nature.
My story is recounted in the my World Compendium linked here.
Writer, Reader, and Character
I am the reader. I am the writer. I am the character. I am all at once, all in a sea of other books. Books upon books. The question still burns, but the answer feels closer. Yet still unknown.
A Short Lifetime as Storm
As the wind gusted, I felt something within me shifting along with it. As the thunder cracked, I felt the sound waves reverberate from deep inside. As the rain danced, I felt a calm electricity ignite. I had become one with the storm somehow. All that existed was the storm.
